National Council of Jewish Women of Canada, Toronto

National Council of Jewish Women is so grateful that we were able to spend the morning of International Women’s Day with the U.S. Ambassador; Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism, Deborah Lipstadt, and the Canadian Special Envoy on Holocaust Remembrance and Combating Antisemitism, Deborah Lyons in partnership with Jewish Women International. We learned so much about the rise of antisemitism before and since October 7th, the work they are doing together to combat antisemitism globally, and what inspires them as bold international women leaders!

More ways to celebrate International Women’s Day with NCJW:

  • Join NCJW in Washington D.C. as we celebrate our 130th anniversary on Tuesday, March 12th.
  • Read the article U.S. Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt co-wrote with Ambassador Michèle Taylor, U.S. Permanent Representative to the UN Human Rights Council and mentioned on the call about the sexual violence perpetrated by Hamas.
  • Spread the love to your local abortion providers (this weekend!) with the Jews for Abortion Access Campaign.

As the ambassadors mentioned on the call: After all, perhaps you have come to be here “for such a time as this.” (Esther 4:14)  We are all being called upon to speak up and speak out for women. May we all have the resilience to bring the light, and sometimes “necessary agitation,” to move towards a more equitable future.
