ABOUT MITZVAH DAY
Small actions can make a big difference.
MITZVAH DAY is an opportunity to take part in a day of social action and make a difference in the communities around us!
Mitzvah Day International is an annual day of faith-based social action that takes place in November each year, in communities across the globe. On Mitzvah Day each year, community groups and individuals undertake a range of volunteer projects for those in need in their local community.
NCJWC Toronto collected donations for local not-for-profit organizations and communities in need.
THE COMMUNITY DID A GREAT MITZVAH!
Thank you NCJWC Toronto for making MITZVAH DAY 2023 a huge success! We salute our members and friends for helping over 2660 people in their time of need in Toronto and in Israel.
TOGETHER WE:
-Collected winter items and made sandwiches and cookies for Ve’Ahavta
-Collected toys for Chai Lifeline
-Collected purses and toiletries for Fill a Purse for a Sister
-Wrote letters to Israeli soldiers to be delivered through the Thank a Soldier Campaign
-Played Bingo and provided refreshments for appreciative residents from a supported housing project in the GTA
What an incredible community! What a wonderful group of women!

A DAY OF LOVING-KINDNESS
In support of:
(1) Ve’ahavta
Supporting homeless people in the community.
Donate & drop off: blankets & clothing for adults: mainly men.
New or gently used outerwear, hats, mittens, socks, sweaters, warm pants, boots for men and women.
(2) Chai Lifeline Canada
Supporting children whose families are experiencing critical illness.
Donate & drop off: New in-package unwrapped toys, books & supplies for children ages 11-18.
Toys, electronics, electronic accessories (ear buds, headphones, chargers, etc), new makeup, books & activities, puzzles & games.
(3) Fill a Purse for a Sister Campaign
Supporting women & teens in crisis & in shelters.
Donate & drop off: New or gently used purses & tote bags filled with full-sized toiletries & feminine products.
Toothpaste, toothbrush, brush, mouthwash, dental floss, moisturizer, shampoo & conditioner, tampons & pads.
(4) Thank an Israeli Soldier
Make a card: Drop off or drop in and make one.
Join others worldwide in sending a personal card to an Israeli soldier on the front lines.
Show the IDF support and encouragement for defending the Jewish people and The State of Israel!
EACH OF US HAS THE POWER TO CHANGE THE WORLD.
