Helen Weisbrod was a long-standing member of York Mills Study Branch of the National Council of Jewish Women of Canada, Toronto.  She was an active volunteer in the Jewish community. Her family established this scholarship in her memory to provide opportunities to a worthy student requiring financial assistance.

The National Council of Jewish Women of Canada, Toronto is a non-profit organization committed to enhancing the lives of individuals within our own community and in the broader multi-cultural community through education, service and social action.

Purpose

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance for a worthy and needy individual who embraces the philosophy and purpose of Council and who is entering the first year of an undergraduate program as a full-time student within the Province of Ontario (note change from last year).

Application Process

Applicants are required to submit a 500-word essay about their academic studies and goals, and extra-curricular activities, as well as any additional information that demonstrates they support the mission and vision of National Council of Jewish Women of Canada, Toronto.   Please fill and attach a profile sheet indicating your name, age, email and home addresses, telephone number, an outline of volunteer activities, and current high school, along with 1 academic reference (name, email address and telephone number).

Please note that the deadline for receipt of this application is Friday, May 31, 2024 at 4 p.m.
